Prize!

For a few weeks over the Summer I was religiously filling out any surveys I could get my hands on. Most of the surveys ended up kerplunking :/ and being wastes of my time. I managed to pull through with one prize! I saw an advertisement for a free photograph mousepad from ArtsCow. Of course, I was really skeptical and didn't think I could actually receive the mousepad. I uploaded the picture I wanted to have printed on the mousepad, and choose an adorable heart shape! I hit submit and forgot about the mousepad for several weeks. All of a sudden, right before school began, I received my mousepad!!!! I was ecstatic. Not just because I got this lovely mousepad for free, but I paid no shipping costs and it looks absolutely beautiful! The picture quality is great and the mousepad itself is nice as well =). Yes, I do realize I am getting crazy excited over a mousepad, even going to the extremes of writing a whole blog post about it, but it's fantastic! and free!
=)

Isn't it simply wonderful?!

Staycation!

This year instead of traveling afar for vacation, we decided to stay a little closer to home. Actually, we did stay home. We tested out the new "stay-cation" idea and quite liked it! Instead of being running busily from activity to activity, being at home kind of gave us more relaxing time, and saved a great deal of cash.. Our stay-cation consisted of: going to 2 amazing zoos,( which was thrilling for me, because I hadn't been to a zoo since I was 5!) , seeing the amusing film Despicable Me (twice. we were into doing things twice this round, not sure why), Driving up to ... (I'm not exactly sure where, but we played a lot of Uno and road games along the way), Eating at delish Red Lobster for lunch, where I discovered that each yummy, garlic-ey buttery biscuit is only 400 calories! ( =(. ) , Eating at festive Don Pablos (so i could get my fave enchilada! ) , and going to my boyfriend's lovely church, of course =).
I included some lovely documentation of our "trip" ;)

at the zoo =).

My sweet pea and this darling giraffe!!

It was such a cutie!

chilling out at the park..

goofing off, of course.

we took a loong journey up to NC, so we brought along some tunes =).

The Staycation idea turned out to be a blast! =) Definitely an option to consider if you are; broke, want a very slow, relaxing vacation, hate traveling, or just want to enjoy being home without working!!

Top Five Rules of a College Student

Since I've been a college student for approximately 4 days now, I am an experienced source to listen to. I have already developed the Top Five Rules of a College Student. Take notes, you will be tested over this material eventually.

Rule 1: Be cautious of advice. Safe money! Buy books online! BUT what if those books don't arrive for seven months? What if you fail the first 10 papers because you are missing something that is in those books. Think this one over. thoroughly.
Rule 2: Scope out your classes . What about your teacher's body language? Is he trying to scare the sense of out of you? or maybe he's simple trying to keep himself awake as well? This rule takes time, so don't rush it. Oh, and don't let the teacher catch you glaring at him... that may invite some bad attention as well.
Rule 3: Get along with people. As weird as little Sally may seem, she takes exquisite notes and the teacher absolutely adores her. Sally just might have the answer to that bonus question you've been looking for.
Rule 4: Be early. very, very, early. yes, college kids want to sleep, but coming in 15 minutes late to class because you couldn't get parking is a lame way to rack up the tardies.
Rule 5: Be skeptical. you can figure out what that means for yourself.
